Sri Venkateswara Temple Tirupati

The temple located on the Swami Pushkarini surrounded by wooden hills is the cardinal landmark in the entire town and the presiding deity is here is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu himself. 247 ft high Gopuram or the gateway of the temple is a fine example of Dravidian architechture with exquisite decoration . On the spire, the vimana wrapped in gold Ananda Nilayam. The gold wrapped Dhwaja stambha is also found here. On an avearage 2000 devotees visit the temple everyday.

 

 

Sri Kapileswaraswami Temple Tirupati

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is located at the foot of the Tirumala Hill.Kapila Teertham, the sacred waterfall situated beside the temple augments the natural beauty of the setting.

 

Sri Kodandaramaswami Temple Tirupati

Constructed by the Chola king in the tenth century AD., the temple has Rama, Sita and Lakshmana as the presiding deities. It is situated in the heart of the town.

 

Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple Tirupati

Visited by a whopping number of tourists, the temple is dedicated to Sri Venkateswara is a visual treat for its imposing spire. The presiding deities here are Lord Vishnu in reclining position and Lord Krishna.In the year 1130AD, the shrine was purified by the famous Saint Ramanujacharya.

 

Tiruchanur Padmavati Temple Tirupati

Situated at a distance of 5kms from the Tirupati Temple, this temple is a well known pilgrimage centre where the devotees visit in large number to catch a glimpse of Sri Padmavathi Devi. Legend says a visit to Tirupati temple is worthwhile only after offering prayers here.
